About the Event

As Europe accelerates its digital and climate transitions, artificial intelligence is becoming a defining driver of economic growth, industrial competitiveness and technological leadership. Yet AI does not exist without infrastructure. Data centres, cloud platforms, high-performance computing, energy systems, connectivity and resilient supply chains are rapidly becoming the strategic foundations of Europe's future economy.

Hosted as part of Brussels Climate Week, the Digital with Purpose Brussels Summit 2026 will explore how Europe can build the digital infrastructure needed to power the AI era while advancing climate goals, strengthening economic resilience and creating long-term business value.

The Summit takes place at a pivotal moment. The European Commission's Cloud and AI Development Act (CADA), the InvestAI facility, and the EuroHPC AI Gigafactories initiative are reshaping Europe's approach to digital infrastructure, while unprecedented private investment is accelerating the deployment of next-generation AI facilities across the continent. Together, these initiatives present a unique opportunity to position Europe as a global leader in trusted, sustainable and competitive AI infrastructure.

However, building Europe's AI backbone requires more than computing power. It demands coordinated action across energy systems, digital infrastructure, financing, public procurement, cloud services, critical supply chains, skills, regulation and international collaboration. It also requires demonstrating that digital transformation is not only compatible with sustainability, but can actively strengthen Europe's competitiveness, security and resilience.

Throughout the day, the Summit will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, technology providers, investors and international partners to examine how digital infrastructure can support Europe's industrial ambitions while delivering measurable economic, environmental and societal benefits. Rather than focusing on future aspirations, discussions will showcase practical experience, successful deployment models and the conditions required to scale investment across Europe.

As part of Brussels Climate Week, the Summit reinforces the essential connection between climate ambition and digital innovation. It demonstrates how sustainable digital infrastructure, responsible AI deployment and cross-sector collaboration can accelerate the transition towards a more competitive, resilient and climate-neutral Europe.
